This Thangka painting portrays the mother of all Buddhas, White Tara. She is the goddess of compassion and healing of Tibetan Buddhist Tradition.

It is believed that White Tara has the power to alleviate people from suffering and also is considered to bring good fortune and longevity.

Thangka is a classical and stylised form of Nepalese and Tibetan painting on cotton, supported by scroll sticks. Tibetian Thangka mainly depicts important Buddhist motifs, images of the Buddha, other Buddhist deities and mandalas.
