Tyamko
Explore the beauty and rhythm of Nepal with our exclusive Tyamko collection – a showcase of authentic handmade Nepalese crafts rooted in culture and tradition.
Tyamko is one of the prominent instruments in the Panche Baja, a traditional set of Nepali musical instruments used in weddings and cultural ceremonies. It is a small kettle drum made from softwood, clay, copper, or iron, with a cowhide membrane stretched across the top. Played with two wooden sticks called Gajo, the Tyamko produces a distinct beat that echoes Nepal’s rich musical heritage.
At Swodeshi, we offer a variety of handmade Tyamkos and other traditional crafts, including brass utensils, woolen products, woven baskets, and decorative items – all lovingly crafted by skilled Nepali artisans. Each piece tells a story, using sustainable materials and age-old techniques passed through generations.
By choosing Swodeshi, you’re not just purchasing a product – you’re embracing authentic Nepali craftsmanship, supporting local artisans, and preserving Nepal’s cultural heritage
