Description

Made of wood and leather, this percussion instrument with beads tied to its end is used with Trishul to signify lord, Shiva. It is basically a musical instrument used in Hindu prayers and ceremonies. It is also used in Buddhist Vajrayana ritual practice. It is generally believed that the sound from these damaru helps in waking up holy spirits and brings good energy.
