Chindo( Wabuk) is a bottle used by Kiratis. This bottle is made up of traditional gourd (Kubindo/कुभिन्डो). This ancient bottle not only has a cultural value but also has a health benefit.
The inside crust of Wabuk is bitter. This bitterness regulates the density/quantity of fat and cholesterol in the human body. Moreover, when millet beer is added to this bitter crust, it mixes perfectly to kill any poisonous substance during long traveling. Consumption of this millet beer will help to control high blood pressure and the infestation of worms inside the stomach. This purified millet beer is considered holy and offered to the Pitris during rituals.
Ancient Kiratis used to carry Chindo while crossing the road. They used to cover the mouth of Wabuk and strap it to their waist. This prevented them from drowning.
Mythology: Once in the war, dragons were killing people but leaving ones who were carrying Chindo. Dragons thought, looking at the shape of chindo, that sky and earth are going to collide. From then, it is considered to have a big cultural value.
