Incense burner, known as dhupauro in Nepali, is a container made of brass and copper. It has a lid with holes that function as vents to release smoke from the incense that is burnt within. These traditionally handcrafted burners are made in Nepal with Tibetan auspicious symbol, Ashtamangal carved on the sides.
The incense burners are basically used as a safety measure to avoid fire hazard while offering incense during religious or spiritual ceremonies. In addition to these, the incense burners are also used in aromatherapy and as home decor creating a relaxing environment.
